Importing and Exporting

All orders delivered within the UK (including Northern Ireland) will attract UK VAT (Value Added Tax) on IDSL invoices. We are legally obliged to charge this.

All orders delivered outside the UK will not attract VAT on IDSL invoices. However, on import to the destination territory, local customs may well (and usually do) charge import tax to the "importer" (typically the recipient of the goods). The level of this VAT differs from territory to territory.

Our products do not attract import duties.

Useful Information, Links and FAQs

If the delivery destination of your shipment from IDSL is within the UK (including Northern Ireland), then your invoice from IDSL will have VAT appearing on it.

If the delivery destination of your shipment from IDSL is outisde the UK, then you will be expected to pay the Import VAT to the Agent handling the import. Typicaly this is our chosen courier - FedEx. If you have used your own courier then it may be them, and also some shippers use third-party agents within certain territories.

If you have an account with FedEx then we can add this to the shipment manifest and import VAT will be charged to your account.

In some territories, import VAT handling agents may levy a nominal fee for managing this process.

Typically if you are registered for VAT (Sales Tax) within a territory and pay and charge this tax on all your purchases and sales, then you can claim the tax back on your monthly or quarterly tax returns. You shol check this with your Company Accountant for an accurte and definitive answer in your territory.
