SignatureGem 1x5 Serial

The SignatureGem® 1x5 is our small, more rugged electronic serial signature capture pad.

Designed for accuracy, reliability, and portability, these models feature an active pen with interchangeable inking and plastic tips.

The pad is small in size and weight, and is powered only by your computer's serial (RS232) port.

With the rugged signing surface, these models show the signature on the computer screen only.

The SignatureGem® 1x5 models include all the high-quality features of our electronic signature pads The wide signing area and tough surface make this a versatile pad for the most demanding applications.

The pens supplied with SignatureGem® 1x5 models have interchangeable nibs (one nylon, one inked supplied with the unit) that allow the user to write in ink on paper positioned above the pad, whilst still capturing the signature electronically. Thus paper forms and documents can be completed in both the traditional way with inked pen with signatures also captured electronically.

The "-B" model is a Serial device. It connects to a PC or Termial via an RS232 connection (pad has a female 9-pin connector - see image above). Typically serial is less common than the USB connection, All power requirements for the pad are provided by the serial connection.

This model has a three-year Manufacturer's Warranty. However, even after this warranty period has passed (or if the repair is outside the terms of the warranty) we can offer a lifetime service to repair or refurbish the unit (if possible) for a modest charge.

The "-R" suffix, common to all our products denotes a product that is RoHS compliant. RoHS, also known as Lead-Free, stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of six hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. All applicable products in the EU market after July 1, 2006 must pass RoHS compliance. RoHS impacts the entire electronics industry and many electrical products as well.
